Glen Beck AND Palin at once! I think I'm going to faint. Such elation. Such intellect. Such...such...I'm speechless.

Humanity Blues said...

I'm sorry, but is Sarah Palin capable of saying ANYTHING insightful? I've never heard someone talk in such generic terms. A ten year old could literally carry on the same conversation as this. LOVING IT!

Both Glenn and Sarah are sincere. That’s especially surprising for a politician. They feel the overall message they have is important. I trust them, not to be infallible, but I trust their intentions.

Thank God!!!!

You do, huh? Sarah Palin is in favor of killing the death tax, the tax on millionaires and billionaires. That might give you a little insight into her intentions.

Yes, I know, they CLAIM they were concerned about the family farmer--but if that were REALLY the case, they could've just exempted the family farmer from the tax. They didn't.

Typical Fox - all fluff and rhetoric with no substance. Remember, folks, according to Fox themselves, this is NOT a news program but "commentary and opinion". Were I a Republican I would be embarrassed that these two are the mouthpieces for what used to be a valid party.

So sad...

Everytime Beck opens his mouth, he subtracts from the sum of human knowledge.

Watching two of the most dishonest, insincere people struggle with the lack of sincerity in politics and the world in general is truly an exercise in mental jujitsu of which I am barely capable.

Beck and Palin are *acting* sincere, which is different than *being* sincere. Beck is an entertainer first and foremost. Palin consistently ignores any facts that don't assist her worldview. Please do not be so credulous as to imagine either of them is actually sincere.

Zac B. said...

Neither are sincere. They have found their target market and are running with it. Without unbridled socially conservative populism, neither Beck nor Palin would be much of anyone, and they certainly wouldn't be raking in paycheck after paycheck from FauxNews. Their views and politics are rooted in some kind of foundation, don't get me wrong, but you'd be a fool to believe either of these actors are speaking from the heart.

Shameless, undiluted, unadulterated, vapid, paranoid, pandering, ignorant, fear-mongering of the highest order. Boy, these people are scary! And no, Humanity Blues, Ms. Palin is NOT capable of saying anything insightful, for the simple reason that she has no insights. THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON IN THERE! She is a Christmas ornament. A bauble. A decorative piece of glittery window dressing. A celebrity. A pretty, tinkling, wind chime. An empty icon for a political "movement" that is about nothing other than pure, visceral, cultural resentment. I have been guilty, like many Democrats, of secretly hoping the GOP commits ritualistic political suicide by nominating this lady for President in 2012, believing that she cannot possible win, and that the thrashing the Republican Party will experience will finally sober them up, rid them of the frat boys that are running the party into the ground, and restore some adult judgment and maturity to a once-proud political institution. But then I think, "What if I'm wrong? What if she actually won the bloody thing?" I'm left with the same fear you instinctively feel when you see a child running across the room with a large sharp knife pointing straight up in the air.

Neither is a politician, one is a whacked out conspiracy theorist/grifter, and the other is just a grifter. Sincerity is planets away from where these two reside.

Are you kidding?

These are the two most insincere people I have ever seen.

Please!

To Bill589 : I need to remind you that Hitler was sincere; as was Ted Bundy. It is a key psychological component in sociopathy...and bloviating ignorance.

That was AWESOME!

I wrote when the news was first announced that by hiring Nanook, Fox "News" must be trying to make sure Media Matters never ran out of stuff to do. I am more convinced than ever that is the case.

Hearing her expound on the constitutionality of health reform was worth the price of admission by itself.

I just wish somebody would tell her that it's FEEL and NAIL, not "fill" and "nell." The way she pronounces those words bugs me as much hearing Dubya butcher the word "nuclear."

So FNC is now the official media arm of the RNC? (or at least of the wing-nut faction thereof)

Anonymous said...

How did they talk for so long, but say nothing?

Bill589 --- you just made a fool of yourself on the internet you gullible dupe

Humanity Blues,

You are absolutely correct. Sarah Palin can only speak in broad generalities and buzzwords; hence she will not do any other media besides Fox unless its a promotional puff piece a la Oprah or Barbara Walters. She avoids Meet the Press, This Week or Face the Nation like vampires avoid crosses and daylight.

She knows nothing of our Founding Fathers. First of all, Washington used Federal authority to put down the Whiskey Rebellion. Only white male property owners could vote under the system established by the Fathers. Senators were "elites" selected by state legislatures to counterbalance the passion of the mob.

The one carryover of the period is the Electoral College, which was also established to be a bulwark against mob rule.

I doubt Palin could actually address any of those points. She at first tried to tell Beck she liked all of the Fathers, similar to Couric interview.

She is a laughingstock. Like you said, a 100 year old could carry on the same level; heck, a 10 year old probably would be even better than Sarah Palin at discussing issues.

Speaking of intentions...

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

These two share many things....an understanding of American history at the 3rd grade level is one of them. 3 cheers for George Washington!

Glenn Beck is not sincere. Google for Glenn Beck Fake Crying.

Sorry, Bill589, but they're sincerely wrong. Sincerity does not excuse facts, intellect, and reason, nor does it equal sound political strategy. A Palin presidency would do incredible damage to this country, despite its sincerity. Good luck.

theod,

You are right. However, Bundy had the ability to "normalise" or mimic charm, sophistication and intelligence. If you see any of his old interviews in late 1970s from Colorado jail (with his full beard) he also had an ability to communicate in clear, crisp sentences, unlike Palin; also seen in his trial when he represented himself; grandiose narcissism yet very clear and in control.

Hitler, like Palin, was a failure at anything he did with the exception of his stint in WWI. He was an art school reject who blamed others for his woes, like Palin.

Once in office, he did bring Germany up out of depression through a quasi socialist economy, often called command capitalist. It is debatable as to whether Hitler actually had any insight into the German economy or whether his lackeys did the heavy lifting and came up with the measures.

Palin, like Hitler, blames others; divides Americans into camps; "real America" vs some other type of America, as Hitler divided people into Germans and "non-Germans" and blamed communists, Jews and ethnic minorities for Germany's problems. She blames anti-discrimination laws for the financial crisis and not Gramm Leach or white speculators and unregulated mortgage companies.

If Palin was ever elected, this nation would suffer a Holocaust. One was enough.

Her and Beck are so insincere it is not even funny. One cries on cue(with some help from Vicks vapor rub) and the other lies through her teeth hiding behind ignorance posing as down home folksy charm.
Yet, unlike a Ted Bundy, she cannot even fake sophistication to point where people compare her to Thatcher, Clinton or Merkel; Bundy was called Seattle's GOP answer to JFK.

Palin is just Tammy Faye Baker or Aimee Semple MacPherson with better clothes and a bigger megaphone.

My dear sister Sarah,

I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Glenn and watched it twice on Fox News..

There are many “old timers” (I have 26 Great Grandchildren) such as myself who are praying for you.
I have asked that our Heavenly Father would “give her all the wisdom she can handle” and we have also asked that God would protect you.
You and Glenn wonder at where you are at this time, I don’t.
