Evolution simply has passed both Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin by. He believes she is ready to be President when she:
a) Could not answer basic questions asked by softball Katie Couric e.g. "what do you read."
b) Blatantly evaded questions as asked in VP debate and even saying she would not answer questions as asked. No one asked her for her "straight talk," they asked her specific issues and policy questions
c) Is a liar time and again:
-Death Panels: LIE
-"Thanks but no thanks..." LIE: She was for bridge, then against but kept earmarks
-Spouted discredited lines in China about recession caused by banks being forced into bad loans. All EMPIRICAL, REAL WORLD EXPERT EVIDENCE PROVES THIS IS A LIE.
How does Limbaugh reconcile his statements with latest CNN poll? 7 in 10 think she is UNQUALIFIED! Gallup only has her at 40% favorables. Marist had poll showing a 56%-33% loss to President Obama in 2012. How does he reconcile his fantsaies with cold hard facts that a majority of Americans will NEVER vote for such an ignoramus as President. She has NOTHING to offer the national debate but divisiveness, partisan screeching and soap operas (Levi; Letterman).
Her fanboys like Limbaugh and certain posters here can continue to indulge their self eroticization fantasies about her but facts are facts and the fact is, evolution simply has passed her by.

What is wrong? The poll numbers? They are what they are and the majority in each poll says she is NOT QUALIFIED! You have yet to ONCE offer an actual logical counterpoint. If you cannot, I advise you to put a sock in it before someone puts a fist in it.
Facts are facts are facts. And in the case of Sarah Palin, every single statistical category and every piece of numerical evidence supports ME, not YOU!

Regarding the debate practically everyone (except the die hard kool aid drinkers) have admitted that she did extremely well and that she won that debate.
Also, does your numerical evidence include all 57 States? You see, even your god can get flustered and make a mistake. Anyway, do you not think that asking someone what they read is a stupid question?
Anyway, what is the REAL WORLD EXPERT EVIDENCE you have. Can you quote an article? Let's see I have a degree in Economics and International Business and I agree the bad loans was what started the downward spiral.
A little lesson: The recession started by a breakdown in the credit markets due to losses incurred in the securitized loan portfolios. Investment banks would buy CMO's and CBO's, these are collaterized mortgage obligations which were bundles of mortgages originated by banks and mortgage companies. The greatest default risk in real estate loans is the loan to value ration. Barney Franks in the 90's had good intentions (in hindsight not so smart, though) and ran through Congress a bill aimed at getting real estate funding for people who did not have down payments or credit. Consequently the banks were forced by legislation to insure mortgages that they never would have initiated on their own. The deregulation of Glass-Steagel in the 90's also was instrumental. Glass-Steagel separated banks and investment banks, when this was deregulated investment banks were allowed to participate in mortgages.
At the time of this banking collapse demand was good, production was up and unemployment was down. Sales and profits were also growing. The lack of confidence in the financial markets and the increase of oil prices is what triggered this recession. The increase of oil prices was also due to Congress not dealing with an energy policy.
Please do not start frothing at the mouth afdter reading the above. It is really not attractive.

Federal Reserve
A report by Lending Pattens, published in Real Estate Magazine on July 24, 2008 showed that in 2006, 71% of sub-prime loans were issued to non-Hispanic Whites; 40% were to middle and upper income borrowers.
At the end of 2004, according to the now defunct New Century, a slight majority of sub-prime borrowers were white, under 50

Former Fed Reserve governor Randall Kroszner also disproved this partisan talking point. What gives his POV some weight is he is a Chicago School disciple (Friedman) and was appointed by George W. Bush. In Decmber 2008, he stated that no EMPIRICAL evidence has been presented that would support this assertion.

As for whether or not asking what one reads is stupid, that is NOT the POINT! The point is, Couric asked her a VERY simple question and asked it because Palin was claiming expertise in national issues e.g. energy yet was an unknown quantity at that point; no major speeches or writings on the subject and was contending for a national office. However, Alaska is some distance from the mainland United States and Couric simply wanted to know how Mrs. Palin informed herself of the issues she was speaking to? Trade publications? Online editions of the AP, Reuters, WSJ? She could not speak to even the most basic of questions. Her answers on U.S. Supreme Court rulings were cringeworthy as every high school student learns at least of three decisions by the time they graduate:
Dred Scott; Plessy; Brown. This is also learned in any required U.S. history class in every college, even community and junior colleges.
Who claimed she won the debate? Her fans? Republicans and neocons who were already going to vote for the McCain ticket? Who? Most independents like myself were put off by her and Obama won non-affiliated or independent voters 52% to 44%. Someone who cannot answer 11th grade level questions, as silly as they may seem to you and her, scares thinking people. She was asked a question as a gauge of her basic information grasp and she FAILED!
She also believed Putin reared his head into Alaskan airspace. Yet, no EVIDENCE has ever arisen he did. The only contact Palin has had with Russia is a diplomat she met in Alaska in 2007 yet there was no forward motion on Transarctic matters.

I also am waiting for a reasonable answer on the 71% who say she's not qualified and her Gallup ratings of only 40% favorables. Please try to avoid parroting the latest Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity and Coulter talking points and demonstrate halfway decent thinking skills and reputable sources that give this woman even a RUDY shot at the White House (as in the ND football player). She is not intellectually curious; deliberately ignorant and proud of it and cannot speak proper diction...
Sorry but the "real America" is now a nation interconnected to a global economy and foreign policy matters not lending themselves to nostalgic bits about the Gipper and simplistic soundbites. Handsome, once again your alleged "facts" are mistaken. I just spoke to an oil and gas expert and was informed that you should be asked where do you get your medical marijuana? First of all, oil companies would be more than thrilled to get the gas out. If they do not work their leases they lose them. Why do you think they rushed to work the leases in Alaska earlier this year? Because Gov. Palin told them to either drill or lose the leases. Presently gas prices are high and nothing would make them happier than to sell the gas. As it stands now, they have to flare the well and pump the gas back in. The ONLY thing that is stalling the pipeline are environmental groups and independent think tanks stocked with liberals who can only agree with ideas that come from them. If you have ever seen an oil well and see fire spewing out, that is the natural gas that they are burning. Do you not think that oil companies would rather sell it than burn it?
Regarding the 71% polled, I have no interest in that whatsoever. Polls can be manipulated. I am sure that if 100 of your relatives are polled they will say you are really "handsome" but if 100 different people are polled you might get a different outcome.
By the by, do you know who owns most of the unregulated mortgage companies? Banks holding companies. I have never said that the lending to minorities was the cause so do not try to make me a racist, bigot or the like. The Sub-prime lenders were also a problem and they were lending to people that again could not afford the mortgages. Just because you apply for a sub-prime mortgage does not mean you can afford it. A few years ago there were a lot of plans that would lend 125% of the value of a home and a lot of people took advantage of that, hence the loan to value ratio was skewed and when people found that they actually owed more than the house was worth, they walked away. Never mind that they were aware of the fact when they originally got the mortgage.
Furthermore, I would appreciate your not SCREAMING at me. It is not necessary and actually if you want to behave "handsomely" you should, never, ever scream at a woman.

I do have to say that it appears the Palinites on this blog are a bit more intelligent than the gun-toting, tractor pull crowd on her Facebook. As entertaining as they are, it's difficult to debate someone with no teeth and a belly full of beer during the Cash4Gold commercials on Beck.
JJ, you lost a lot of quasi-respect from me with your last post. I admired the fortitude with which you had been debating Handsome. Your last post was the typical playground "easy out" that is common among Republicans/Conservatives. Palin did not win that debate. The days following, those that claimed she had were ridiculed. And, honestly, how hard could it be to win a debate against Biden? And, she still couldn’t pull it off!
Your attempt at discrediting the links and facts that Handsome provided by claiming you spoke to a “gas and oil” expert was laughable. “Gas and Oil” experts do not include the kid at the corner gas station. And stating they would love to sell gas is just a silly comment. If you’re going to quote an “expert”, you need to provide some proof that they exist. Otherwise, your “quote” is worth dookie.
Finally, your feigned concern over a “virus” proves to me that you are unwilling to read anything that isn’t spoon-fed to you by YOUR gods...Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Palin, etc. If you use a computer on a regular basis and do not have virus software, you deserve to get a virus. State your fears as they are. You won’t check the links, not because of your fears of a virus, but because of your fear of knowledge.

Saying "I spoke to" or "heard from" is HEARSAY/SAY-SO! Are you SMART ENOUGH to understand those two terms?

I admit I am a tad intense, a la Woody Hayes or Vince Lombardi but I have learned that one cannot argue facts with ideologues; they have to be bludgeoned and the moderates cannot afford to be moderate when speaking out against demagogues and charlatans. Upwards of 50-60 million died under Mao; the millions who perished under Adolf Hitler and Stalin. All three men had this in common:
-Appeal to prejudice, fears, uncertainty; prejudice against race or class.
-Offer simple, soundbite solutions (Bread and Peace; Germany for Germans; Let one thousand flowers bloom {Mao})to complex problems
-Incredible self confidence that far exceeds actual knowledge and understanding of the world.
People like Sarah Palin are interesting in that they play up class hatred against "elites," which is code for educated people, the media (Mao also hated the media and Pol Pot killed people for wearing glasses; sign of elitism) and academics; yet, they shill for policies that benefit another group of elites: Big business, defense contractors, Wall Street, etc. So, it all falls to Where you stand depends on where you sit. She plays on prejudices against so-called elites yet shills for rival elites.
She also tapped into racial prejudice last year with her comments about "real America" and people at her rallies screaming "terrorist" and "kill him" when she mentioned Ayers in an attempt to tie Oabma to the controversial Weatherman.
BTW, Doug Hoffman got PUNKED! Tell me again about Palin Power. Lol!
