From The Chicago Tribune:
U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kirk asked a national Republican power broker to secure an endorsement by conservative former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin when she hits town later this month to appear on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," according to a memo obtained by the Tribune today.
The request came a day after Kirk, who has long billed himself as a moderate, dodged questions from reporters about whether he would want Palin, the controversial 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, to raise campaign money for him.
According to the memo, Kirk asked the power broker, Fred Malek, if he could have Palin “say something quick and decisive” to back Kirk’s candidacy during her scheduled Nov. 16 trip to Chicago to appear on Oprah.
“The Chicago media will focus on one key issue: does Gov. Palin oppose Congressman Mark Kirk’s bid to take the Obama Senate seat for the Republicans,” states the memo, which was first reported by the Washington Post.
Sarah Palin will be kick off her book tour on Oprah November 16.It was also announced that on November 17, Barbara Walters will air the first installment of her interview with Sarah Palin on Good Morning America. The interview will be broken up into a five part series
Sarah Palin posted more about the upcoming "Going Rogue" book tour on Facebook:
I am very, very excited about the upcoming road trip for my book. It will be an honor to meet as many of you as possible!
“Going Rogue” publisher HarperCollins is working hard to schedule book signings across the nation, and we’ll be announcing the locations in the next day or two. I’ve decided to travel to cities outside of the typical book tour venues, and I hope to cover as much of the country as I can.
We’re in the process of arranging interviews with local and national media. An interview with Oprah Winfrey is already scheduled, and I’m also hoping to have the opportunity to talk with Bill O’Reilly, Barbara Walters, Sean Hannity, Greta Van Susteren, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Miller, Tammy Bruce, and others, including local Alaska personalities Bob & Mark and Eddie Burke. (Variety is the spice of life!)
Can’t wait to hit the road. Can’t wait to see you!

So what did we learn about NY 23 besides its dizzying storyline?
By Andrea Tantaros - November 04, 2009
“We learned that the Republican Party establishment in Washington is not losing its influence; it simply backed a bad candidate in Scozzafava -- someone it never initially selected, nominated or wholeheartedly endorsed Sometimes, candidates are just plain weak like the Democrats in New Jersey and Virginia governor's races. In places like New York where third party candidates are common, a door is opened for someone outside the norm.
We learned that Sarah Palin doesn't just "go rogue" herself; she helps others do the same. Palin's an earned media machine. She was able to help bring the battle to the national stage (Heck, the woman could get the national press corps to focus on a potato sack race competition). Even those who think the former Alaska governor is political poison, at the very least, have to admit her endorsement didn't hurt Hoffman and didn't help Scozzafava.
The real question: is this a trend...for her? If Sarah Palin has any hopes of winning a national office she can't run around endorsing unwinnable candidates. She'll lose her political mojo and be labeled a spoiler “
“is this a trend...for her” - “unwinnable candidates” – “spoiler”
I say; Sarah Palin is a winner in the 23rd and the Republican Party is the loser.
Sarah Palin should be credited with her idelogical endorsement of Hoffman, Sarah Palins winning choice in the 23rd is a Republican matter; Hoffman was right for the Republican Party.
Sarah's ‘Rogue’ leadership will bring the Republican Party, kicking and screaming back to it’s conservative roots.
Go Sarah Go
I always knew Kirk was a weasel. I can't wait to campaign against him.
JUST WONDERING....DOES ANYONE WHO LIKES SARAH PALIN KNOW HOW TO USE A DICTIONARY? GOING ROGUE?
rogue ( r½g) n. 1. An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal.
MAYBE SHE COULD HAVE A SEQUEL TO THE BOOK AND CALL IT "GOING PSYCHO?"
Mark Kirk sounds pretty desperate.
Annoyingmous
Your English lesson is a non-issue with everyone above a reptilian level education.
Sarah, if you really want to jump into the fire, I believe you can do it, just like your great leadership in Alaska.
Good luck to you...it's nice to see a politician who tells the truth...the more you tell the truth, the more the leftists will attack you, because the truth is like bright lights on those who want to dismantle liberty.
Liberty and truth, is the enemy of
those in power now, who want to pretend it all away from each one of us. Mark
Mark Kirk was only 1 of 7 or 8 RINO's who voted for Obama's Cap and Tax program.
Sarah, don't support this RINO !!
So Mark Kirk is showing his true colors. He's not the Moderate he wants us to believe he is--he's a whacko like Sarah Palin.
