If You Want To See Sarah Palin, Read This First

Later this month, Sarah Palin will begin signing books at Barnes & Noble stores across America.

Because of the expected crowds, security and crowd control are of paramount importance. So, if you want to go to see Sarah and get a book signed, you should know in advance that there are strict rules.

The best advice is to call the store a few days before you go to find out what procedures they will have in place.

This article in the Villages Daily Sun gives the rules for her upcoming visit to the Barnes & Noble at The Villages in Florida. You can expects similar, if not identical, rules and restrictions for Sarah's stop at other stops.

For the Villages:

Palin will be signing books at Barnes & Noble at Lake Sumter Landing, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Wristbands will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 7 a.m. Nov. 24. You must be present in order to get a wristband.

You must present your Barnes & Noble or Barnes and Noble.com receipt for “Going Rogue” in order to get a wristband.

Maximum of two copies of “Going Rogue” per person will be signed.

A parent or guardian must accompany all minors.

No posed photos.

No personalization of books.

No large bags will be allowed through the signing line.

Cell phones and cameras will have to be turned off and put away before customers approach the signing table.

It is nice that Sarah Palin is going back to Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, Florida. Palin held her first campaign rally as John McCain’s vice presidential running mate on Sept. 21, 2008, at Market Square on Lake Sumter Landing. That rally attracted 60,000 people from The Villages and the surrounding area.

60,000! So you can understand the concern and the restrictions.

Sarah kicks off the “Going Rogue” book tour with an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Nov. 16, the day before the memoir hits store shelves.

The tour starts Nov. 18 at a Barnes & Noble in Grand Rapids, Mich., where Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, and running mate Sen. John McCain made a campaign appearance last fall.

Choosing Michigan as the first state fits the book’s title, which refers to reports from last year that the then-Alaska governor was defying McCain’s staff and instead had gone “rogue.”

Palin openly expressed her unhappiness with the campaign’s decision to pull out of Michigan and effectively concede the state to Democrat Barack Obama.

The tour will last about three weeks, with a break for Thanksgiving, and will end around Dec. 10. Palin will travel by bus for much of the time, likely accompanied by family and by aide Meg Stapleton, the Associated Press has reported.

The full schedule has not been completed, but other confirmed locations include Cincinnati; Columbus, Ohio; Roanoke, Va.; the Army post in Fort Bragg, N.C.; Orlando and Albuquerque, N.M.

“Going Rogue” has an announced first printing of 1.5 million copies and has been at or near the top of Amazon.com’s best-seller list for weeks.

I want to go rogue and see her, but she’s not coming close enough as far as I can see. I’ve read that there may be more stops after the ones listed. I’m hopeful.

I have so much I want to say to her, but will probably just stand there with my mouth hanging open until somebody tells me to move. I hope I can at least say thank you.

She is the best thing that has happened to this country in a very long time. I am so impressed with her love for her children and the wonderful things she has done for the people of Alaska. Please feel free to visit my blog www.readingisthekey.com and share your thoughts regarding our children and how they represent the future of our great nation.

You have to wonder how she does it all. With a Down's child you need to spend time each day helping him with his development. Even at his young age he needs a lot of professionally guided physical and mental therapies to reach his full potential. I really hope Trig is her top priority,

Janice, I visited your blog and you are so right. Education is the key. I told my daughters that not only did they get a public school education, but they were also home schooled by me and their Dad. They turned out to be accomplished young women, both in grad school, one getting a PhD. Parents are the most important resource for their kids.

Yes, Sarah is the best thing since 9/11.

How does she do it? She ignores her kids and leaves them with sitters or a nanny. Sarah is all about Sarah.

Alex, your attitude is a clear expression of your miserable self, you sound like the moron; on second thought; you sound like Anonymous:

Anonymous ‘Thinks’...
I hate her and I follow her on Twitter, you think I'm the only Palin-hater following her? I think not. November 12, 2009 8:48 AM

Either one of you make a moron sound like a genius.

And if I got my ‘Anonymous’ mixed up then this is a clear case for registration on this blog.

“NOTE TO THE CENSORS”
There are no ‘censors’ on this blog, the Editor clearly expressed his/her opposition to ‘censorship’

“THIS IS THE KIND OF NOTE THAT SHOULD BE CENSORED”
Why? Because it recants your vile opinions.

“NOT THOSE THAT SIMPLY COME FROM SOMEONE ANONYMOUS”
No one here wants to ‘censor’ a post from someone ‘Anonymous’ most here; according to the poll; want a ‘registration’ so there will be no ‘Anonymous’ posts.

The Facebook issue came about because
likely some Moby, 'lefty pretending to be a rightwinger' put some derogatory comments on that site and on the Team Sarah site. The no cell phones rule. in the HK and Wisconsin
speeches made the journalists
actually work to get the story right.

I personally hope Going Rogue is our ‘common sense conservative manifesto’.

Just wondering....will Levi be at Thanksgiving dinner. Sarah didn't seem to want to answer.

I think we're going to be disappointed with Sarah Palin's book. She spends a good part of the book bashing John McCain's staff. Not very inspirational.

“I THINK”

This is the source of the twisted facts most Sarah Palin ‘haters’ spew

“we’re going to be disappointed”
The book has not been released yet, you have not read it but your ‘hatred’ doesn’t allow you to be reasonable and wait.

“bashing”
No! ‘Explaining’

“Not very inspirational”
This part [if there is this part] is probably not meant to be, it’s most likely meant to be informative.

I wish Sarah could do a signing in NYC. I'd love to meet her but I know she'd be surrounded by vicious harpies here.
Well, I preordered on Amazon, so I'm happy.

I asked twice to see if Sarah would come to Jersey.
I tried to explain that Jersey is not only 'Going Rogue' but also 'Going Republican'

I hope she understands that in this farther than ultra left liberal insane asylum a molderate Republican is considered a dangerious uber Conservative.

I really wish Sarah would do a book signing in Iraq so she could see what her party has done to the lives of all who live there--not to mention all the families of the GI's who have been torn apart because Mommy or Daddy came home blind or missing limbs, or didn't come home at all.

I admire Sarah for her courage going on Oprah--but I only wish she would be more direct with answers. Sarah obviously still struggles with the blatant double standard inherent in the family/work related questions she continues to be asked; the current "mom in chief" spends little to no time with her children (despite not actually being in an elected office) and I have yet to see her taken to task by the media (& by Oprah).
Perhaps President Obama gave her the response she needs to use for future interviews: my family is off limits. If they persist, the answer perhaps should be in the vein of: Move on to another question, if you have the journalistic aptitude to ask anything beyond the status quo talking points your peers have already beaten to death.
I look forward to Sarah developing her "rogue" voice--at least she has the courage to go into hostile media territory with a smile on her face--would love to see mom-in-chief Obama asked the same questions by Glenn Beck...but that'll never happen.

Sarah Palin is an embarrassment. If you think she is a credible spokeswoman for conservatives then I suspect you like tabloid news over substance. The fact that she was the Governor of Alaska is say more about Alaskans than anything else. The best thing for the Republican party is for her to go away quietly once she is done cashing in on McCain’s blunder.

With respect to Sarah Palin I see that there are a few comments on the negative side. No use trying to change minds that are already closed.
But as time progresses toward November of 2010, I might suggest that they have their bags packed for destinations that meet their needs, i.e. Venezuela, Cuba, etc..I'm sure that they will enjoy a more Utopian lifestyle there. On the side, I've noticed that most of the negative comments about Sara's new book were made by people who haven't even read it.
