Democrats Trying To Scare Up Money using Sarah Palin Again

The following is being mailed out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee:

Do you want to see something REALLY scary this Halloween?

Picture Sarah Palin endorsing a Conservative Party candidate and a favorite of the 'tea party' crowd in the NY-23 special election and raising $116,000 in 24 hours.Call it the Palin Effect.

Call it going rogue on her own Republican Party. Whatever we call it, we need to give it a powerful response from grassroots Democrats. This coming Tuesday marks one year since President Obama was elected.

Help us quadruple the Palin Effect by raising $500,000 and make a powerful vote of confidence for the President's first year agenda.Contribute $5, $10 or more before Midnight Tuesday so we can show the world how much support there is for President Obama on the first anniversary of his historic election.

This first anniversary is really important. The tea party crowd hopes to use Palin's endorsement in the NY-23 special election to send one of their own to Congress on the very first anniversary of President Obama winning the White House. And we can't let that happen.

The inmates have taken over the asylum, and are abandoning the Republican candidate in favor of the extreme conservative. This could either be a cause for concern or a great opportunity. Let's make it an opportunity -- a chance to see a good Democrat elected in a district that hasn't sent a Democrat to Congress since 1852.

The Conservative candidate Mrs. Palin is backing has pledged to continue the Bush economic policies of massive tax cuts for the idle rich and endless debt for the middle class. Those are the same policies that cratered this economy in the Bush years -- but Mrs. Palin is doing all she can to turn back the clock to the "good old days" of George W. Bush.Don't let Sarah Palin turn back the clock.

The media is closely watching what happens on Tuesday. They will use the amount of money Democrats have in the bank as a referendum on President Obama's first year. We need all grassroots Democrats to show how strong the President is.

Contribute $5, $10 or more before Midnight Tuesday so we can show the world how much support there is for President Obama on the first anniversary of his historic election. With the world watching, let's send Sarah Palin and all those 'tea party' folks the strongest possible message that one year after Election Day 2008, President Obama is stronger than ever.

Thanks,Paul Begala

P.S. Sarah Palin and the 'tea party' crowd think they can send one of their own to Congress on the very first anniversary of President Obama's election. As the world watches, let's tell them to think again. Help us raise $500,000 before Midnight Tuesday.

As a self employed person--you know, one of those Joe the Plumbers Sarah Palin claims to love so much--I am disgusted that this woman and her Republican friends have resisted every effort to make it easier and affordable for people like me to get health insurance. Wise up, people, Palin has sold us out to big insurance.

Thanks to Sarah Palin it is no longer business as usual...

Sarah Palin
Consider this:

‘Stand Up for Our Nation’ is our new political organization / party. ‘Stand Up’ will have to be defined and explained to the people and support will have to be gathered. This is difficult!
I have an efficacious suggestion.
The Democratic Party, the Republican Party and the Independent Party have supposedly well known ideologies.
‘Stand Up’ wants to garner support for our cause from the many disenchanted people associated with these parties but first we must offer them an agreeable cause to support.
In order to assist in doing this; I propose a name change.
There is one struggling movement that is ideologically compatible with our goals, well known, historically defined and crosses all party lines.
That is ‘The Tea Party’
Consider renaming our organization / party.

Not only has Sarah Palin brought in over $100,000, just in the first 24 hours, undoubtedly more since then, she has unleashed a tidal wave of endorsements, Pawlenty, DeMint, the NY Post, and several others as well. This morning she posted on Facebook about the importance of wins in both NJ and VA, and called for donations to the Republican Governors group.

What is happening in NY is sending shockwaves through all the Blue Dogs in congress, they are having nightmares of Palin showing up in their districts next year. This will undoubtedly create a lot of roadblocks in both the house and senate, perhaps derailing
0bamacare once and for all.

Let the pathetic 0bots here yammer on, who cares.

The Repubs seem to think that paying taxes is for peasants--you know, people who actually work for a living.

The poll of 300 likely voters, conducted October 24-25, 2009, shows Conservative Doug Hoffman at 31.3%, Democrat Bill Owens at 27.0%, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 19.7%, and 22% undecided. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 5.66%. No information was provided about any of the candidates prior to the ballot question.

This is the third poll done for the Club for Growth in the NY-23 special election, and Doug Hoffman is the only candidate to show an increase in his support levels in each successive poll. The momentum in the race is clearly with Hoffman.

This is the typical Palinista screed; accuse others of not having facts yet only deal in typical partisan accusations.

The reason people bother with her is because she posts distortions and lies on a forum where she cannot be held accountable and yet because the media grants her the attention she seeks, she is able to leverage her position as a former elected official and national candidate to sway or weigh upon crucial policy debates. Yet, she herself refuses to go on Meet the Press, Face the Nation, This Week, etc and actually present her positions in a forum in which she would have to defend her inanity.

Second, Palinistas accuse others of believing Tina Fey's remarks. First of all, Fey based all she said on Palin's own statements and just modified them for comic effect. However, while Palin said one can see Russia from land in Alaska and not from her front porch, the fact is, she claimed that this gave her foreign policy experience. She actually believed that there were ongoing trade missions with Russia but that is not the case:
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Did_Palin_lie_about_trade_missions_0927.html

While she did meet with a Russian diplomat in 2007, there was no forward movement between Alaska and Russia on Transartic issues. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2008174647_palinrussia12m0.html Outside of that, no evidence exists Putin ever reared his head over Alaska. Most Russian leaders either fly over poles or to major coastal locales (LAX, NYC, DC), not Alaska; same with Soviet predecessors.

Is it "making things up" when people judge her on fact she could not answer simple questions such as what papers does she read? Or that her feud with Letterman was false outrage?

Is it making stuff up when critics truthfully state she reduced her debate performance to slogans, folksy sayings and subtle come-ons? If that was how she communicated with a domestic audience, how would she deal with Chavez, Ortega, Putin, Hu Jintao,
Ahmadinefraud? That is why I made my prior comment asking if she would give the world's rogues her underwear? After all, if she used come-ons with a home crowd, what would she do in having to deal with actual bad guys?

The latest CNN polls show 71 percent do not believe she is qualified to be president. Add that to the earlier Gallup poll in which she only had 40% favorable ratings and the summer polls showing her losing to Obama in 2012
56% to 33%.

BTW, I can see why she likes Hoffman. He could not answer questions about the issues facing NY 23 and had to have Dick Armey as his flak man, saying local issues were "parochial." Really? I thought when you ran to rep a district, you ran on knowing the issues important to that district and on what you could do to benefit the district, not the national party or outside interlopers like Palin, Bachmann, Beck or Armey. He complained he should have gotten questions in advance? Is this how he will handle his responsibilities if elected? Something to think about.

Is it "making things up" when people point out Mrs. Palin's lack of knowledge or inability to address very simple questions such as what does she read?

Tina Fey's lines were drawn mainly from Palin's own words, just tweaked for comic effect. Palin did not say that she could see Russia from her house but from land in Alaska and that qualified her as some type of Russian affairs expert. I can see Texas and Colorado from parts of my home state, New Mexico. Does that mean I am an expert on oil or ranching (Texas) or ski resorts (Colorado)?

Furthermore, her Russian trade mission claims do not hold water.
The only interaction she has had with her "neighbor" has been a Russian diplomat she met in 2007; yet no forward progress on Transarctic issues.

The reason the DNC, Begala and MoveOn are "worried" is that this
private citizen is leveraging her former elected position and VP candidacy to try and sway the debate yet she refuses to be accountable for her false statements, hiding behind Facebook.

In 1932, private citizen Adolf Hitler was a failed artist and failed political revolutionary/riot starter and inmate who only garnered 37% of the vote for German president. The rest is history.

Ignoring lies and distortions and hoping it goes away does not work. Sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire. When a charlatan like Palin comes along, someone has to stand up and call her out for preaching divisiveness and fear. If it were only that simple as to ignore her but her using her position and the press spotlighting her remarks means that
reasonable people have to stand up and call her on the carpet. Ignoring her actually gives her inanity validity; if no one refutes her, she must be right.

She refuses to opnely debate her positions and merits thereof.

My earlier remarks about her giving the bad guys of the world her underwear were based on her debate performance. If she reduced herself to come-ons for a home country crowd, how would she handle Putin, Medevedev,
Hu Jintao and Ahmadinefraud, real bad guys? Something to ponder.

Last but not least, I see why she likes Hoffman. He too could not answer basic questions about the issues facing NY 23; complaining that he should have had questions in advance and Dick Armey acting as his flak man, saying local issues like water, highways/roads, etc are "parochial." I thought part of representing a district was knowing such mundane issues and having ideas as how to address them to benefit the residents. Hoffman finds it's easier to spout slogans and placate out of state interlopers like Beck, Bachmann, Armey and Palin than to actually know what goes on in the area he seeks to represent.

Sorry JJ, Mrs. Palin has been measured, weighed and found wanting.

Bill, is it really necessary to post using someone else's name. I posted once and someone has decided to attribute posts to me that were not written by me. I understand that doing that might make you feel that you are witty. I would like to know what kind of foreign experience the present occupant of the WH had before he started campaigning? Did he acquire it by visiting the 57 States and did he ever visited the remaining two? Granted Gov. Palin did not have "foreign experience", but neither have a lot of other presidents. I know that you have probably drank the Kool-Aid and debating with you is like debating a wall. Are you at all aware that the "Stimulus Package" that had to be rushed through Congress because it had to be done ASAP and no one had a chance to read it has only spent about 15% of the monies nine months later? Where is that money sitting? We are paying interest in that money that is just laying there doing absolutely nothing. Maybe it should be given back and our great grandchildren would not have to be burdened with it.

Marcia, FYI I am not a man and calling me a creep because someone has posted using my name is just ridiculous.

Yes, I voted for McCain/Palin and I am PROUD I did so, at least my conscious is clear. For those who said that did and are sorry, that is a lie. The inverse would be more truthful.

The reason why I post under Anonymous is not that I want to remain "anonymous" but rather that I have a problem with Google always forgetting my password and I have to re-register everytime and that is just annoying.
