Money for Charity - $63, 500. Dinner with Sarah - Priceless.

A Grandmother who owns her own defense contracting business in Hunstville, Alabama is the winner of the EBay auction to have dinner with Sarah Palin.

Cathy Maples bid $63,500. The money will go to a charity that helps wounded veterans.

Maples told the Associated Press -

"I thought it was an extremely good cause, and also I'm a big advocate for Sarah Palin. I think she has a lot of morals, and I would love to see her as president of our country."

All in all, the Ride 2 Recovery program, which supports wounded veterans through cycling programs, raised over $95,000 in their online auction. There ere 9 other items offered, but dinner with Sarah Plin went for the most money - by far. (Dinner with Karl Rove went for $16,000.)

The money will help support the organization's programs, like the Golden State Challenge, where 150 wounded veterans will bicycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the Pacific Coast Highway. The challenge starts Oct. 4.

Seven people placed 61 bids over the 10-day run of the auction, which had a minimum bid of $25,000. Maples will have to foot the bill to meet up with Palin for dinner, likely in Alaska. She wouldn't have any problems making another trip north. "I love Alaska," she said.

Maples is allowed to bring four people to dinner. She says the plan right now is to bring her two grandchildren, 13 and 18 years old, their mother and the 18-year-old's girlfriend.

Maples went on to say that she would like to see Sarah Palin become President someday.

You will remember that Keith Olbermann tried to bid the minimum of $25,000 dollars live on MSNBC (see video below). Olbermann balked when he found out there would be a background check. Maples said that check will not be a problem for her or her family.

Be warned before you watch this video of Olbermann bidding - Shannyn Moore is also in the video in a split screen. The image of both Olbermann and Moore together may be too much for small children, those with heart conditions and those with any common sense.

Sarah Palin, Mother, Mother of a soldier, Grandmother and I have to add all around great gal allying with Grandma Maples, her two Grandchildren their Mother and the 18 year olds girlfriend, this is not a dinner meeting it’s a tour de force of Mothers and their families in support of our military; especially our wounded veterans.

Perfect combination!!

Have a great dinner and make sure you let us know how it went.

I'll bet this woman would be a big fan of Sarah Palin. If (God forbid) Sarah is ever elected to anything again, she will undoubtedly be helping the defense contractors to pick our pockets to build more useless weapons and to ensure that more of our GI's will needlessly die in war. You go, girl!

$63,500...A SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO HAVE DINNER WITH THE WOMAN WHO IS FIGHTING SO HARD TO PRESERVE THE $15 MILLION SALARIES AND $300 MILLION IN STOCK OWNED BY THE CEO'S OF OUR INSURANCE COMPANIES.

A BIT OF MOOSE AND A CAN OF CHEAP BEER...AND CONVERSATION ABOUT DEATH PANELS. WHAT A BARGAIN!

WASHINGTON — A straw vote at the annual Values Voter Summit in Washington suggests former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is a favorite among religious conservatives to be president in 2012.
Huckabee was tops with 28 percent of the vote.
Four people tied for second, each with about 12 percent of the vote, they were:
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty,
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin,
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney
Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind.
Pretty good for Sarah who didn’t attend the summit, hasn’t started a campaign or even begun to talk publicly.

Why Anonymous? My son is serving our country and I am proud to say my name is Sandra Stout! Are you perhaps little ashamed for the "hateful childish remarks"? Maybe you should go to the msnbc site instead of boring us with your nasty comments. God Bless America and lets work together to get this country back to One Nation Under God! Not one nation under overspending, uninformed, angry liberals. Grandma Maples, have a great dinner and congratulations on your blessing from God. "Dinner with Sara" wow I am sure you are very honored!!!
