The New York Times has a Palin Fetish

What is with the New York Times?

Ten Days after resigning, Sarah Palin is on the cover of the New York Times. No real news - it is just that the paper needs Palin to survive. Oh, the sweet irony that a woman that embodies everything the New York Times hates - conservatism, middle America, family values - is so popular that the paper holds on to her in desperation.

Wasn't it just last month that the New York Time was chastising Governor Palin for being in the national media too much? On one hand they write that Sarah Palin is in the media too much? A week and half after she resigns as Governor of Alaska - they just can't stop writing about her.

It has got to sting a little.

The newspaper is going bankrupt and their only salvation is writing about someone they despise. You see, Sarah Palin's name brings in readers. People like Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich THINK they are smart and talented enough to bring in readers on their own - but their desperate reliance on the Palin name to get people to pay attention on them is both hypocritical and pathetic.

Rich and Dowd were the George and Gracie of the Sunday New York Times opinion section. Wait George Burns and Gracie Allen ere actually talented - let's make them Christmas and Dunne. That's a much better analogy.

TWO columns on Sarah Palin. The Dowd piece was just inane, something a college freshman would write for the school paper. Her clever idea was to re-enact a Twitter conversation between McCain and Palin. Click here to read it for a laugh - and Maureen we are laughing AT you not WITH you. The great revenge for the Dowd piece is it's utter irrelevance - no one talked about it or picked up on it for the simple reason - it was bad. Wait, worse than bad - it was dumb. Like something Loyd Christmas would write.

Then there is Levi Johnston who won't go away. The media is so infatuated with Sarah Palin that they will do ANYTHING to talk about her - even give this half comatose teenager air time.

Levi is trying to sell a book. Again, the hypocrisy of him claiming that Sarah Palin resigned to cash in on her name, while he continues to try and cash in on her name is laughable.

Sarah Palin signed a reported 7 million dollar book deal without resigning. So money wasn't an issue.

Levi Johnston now thinks he deserves a pay day for not wearing a condom. Here he is on the Today show:

Newspapers are going out of business. Television ratings are in the tank. No matter how these two old mediums try they can't stop their slide to oblivion.

Sarah Palin is a star that TV and newspapers are trying to latch onto to pull themselves out of the abyss.

Their obsession with the Palin name is a all about money - plain and simple - just like Levi Johnston - and they are all equally pathetic.
