Letterman Not Man Enough To Just Apologize

It took over seven minutes for David Letterman to NOT apologize.

Although Letterman claims that he joking about 18 year old Bristol Palin having sex at Yankee Stadium when he said that "during the seventh inning stretch she was knocked up by Sarah Palin" - Bristol Palin wasn't there. 14 year old Willow Palin was there.

My guess is that a writer got the two daughters mixed up.

So....why not just apologize?

Because David Letterman used the controversy over statutory rape as another joke proving to the world that he has no class.

If this churlish ogre thinks jokes about "knocking up" a 14 yr old are funny- he's an even worse mess than previously suspected- and should be locked up. Letterman is a deranged slob- and his stale schtick's about as funny as a train wreck.

If Sarah Palin is SO silly and irrelevant, why the obsession? Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it’s not like it’s not obvious.

And she’s been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.

Go get em, Sarah- and don’t mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion-

I disagree. David apologized, Sarah won't accept it. To not do so will keep her in the spotlight.

Barmam,

David L. planted the "seed" by public display that it is "okay" to publicly assault young women and "knock them up".

Where has the values and decency gone to in America?

To defend the actions of David L. demonstrates that you support his values and quality.

We need roll models, not those who incite violence against our youth.

Sarah Palin will do anything to keep herself in the spotlight. Unfortunately she can't handle the side effects of fame though. Millions of jokes have been told about celebrities and their children...that's part of the gig. It is their responsibility to separate fact form friction and brush it off. David Letterman is doing what he does every night...and Sarah Palin seems to be overreacting. Suck It Up Palin!

Sarah Palin is a idiot. Todd is a cretin. She will never be anything but governor of Alaska. Give it up. Losers.

As I've witnessed since last year, Sarah Palin will do anything, will say anything to put herself into the media spotlight.

If it wasn't for John McCain reaching for straws and doing something desperate to help him win an election, Sarah Palin would still be a no-name Governor unknown outside of Wasilla and Juneau, AK.

Sarah Palin had no problem thrusting her children out on the main stage last year and using them for political purposes, so she has no right now to bring on that hollier than thou crap.

Unfortunately David Letterman fell into her trap and responded to Sarah's pathetic attempt to gain some national attention by once again using her children for political purposes. And unfortunately it has worked and Sarah Palin's name is all over the news channels.

I only wished Sarah Palin had realized last year that she had more than used up her 15 minutes of fame and had gone back to being a no-name Governor.

One stupid stunt by John McCain has now created a monster that's going to be nearly impossible to kill and make go away.

God help us all...

It was a joke. Palin and her family have made themselves up as moral benchmarks, and they aren't, they are fair game. Her daughter's pregnancy isn't that unique, except that it came on the heels of claiming superior morality. She's a hypocrite who made her family part of the story and can't deal with the fact that public figures get ridiculed.

Palin needs to lighten up. Alex Rodriquez should have been upset more than the Palin's. This gal is an overly wound psycho-minivan driving-holier than thou-turbo soccer mom who is an absolute moron that has no place in the political forum for the Republican party. She lost the race for McCain - fact. She is not qualified - fact. She is inarticulate - fact. Please, please send her back the the tundra.

The man admitted that the jokes were tasteless. That is all that is really important. If you want to be in the public spot light, you need to grow a thicker skin or at the least, look up the definition of the word "joke". Your 15 minutes of fame are over, go hunt a moose.

Letterman "so-called apology" was pathetic. He took nothing back & repeated the same tasteless crude jokes to a brainless perverted male chauvinistic audience. CBS should fire him or have him at least take back what he said. I won't hold my breath for that & I'll join the boycott of Letterman & watch Conan O'Brien instead.

Dave Did nothing wrong. Unbelievable that people just want to be in the medias eye so bad that they make a big stink over bad humor just to get attention for themselves. Sarah is drawing more attention towards her daughters then anyone else. Thats extremely more damaging to them.Nobody cared until she made a stink about it.

Let's hope this is the end of the David Letterman - Sarah Palin feud. While last week Letterman apologized, it was in a snarky sort of way, and wasn't accepted by Palin...
