Joy Behar must enjoy chewing on expensive shoes, because she has put her foot in her mouth so many times, she must like the taste.
In attempting to defend Barack Obama's insensitive comment about the Special olympics, Behar hurled even a worse insult.
Here is what she said on The View:
"The guys past does not reflect on his comments. It's not like he's made insensitive remarks or he's cut funding for Special Olympics or something bad against the retarded."
The Retarded?
To someone with a mental disability, to a parent of a child who is mentally disabled or someone who works with the mentally disabled, retarded is a horrible epithet. It is as bad as the ugliness of racial and misogynistic epithets.
Joy Behar needs to apologize. It was clumsy and insensitive. if she is going to keep opening her mouth she needs to take responsibility for what comes out and so do the producers of "The View."
I am certain The View was flooded with phone calls. I would be stunned if the big mouth wasn't forced to apologize.

Barack Obama should follow Sarah Palin's lead and say "thanks, but no thanks." to Joy Behar as an advocate and defender. She is the real bridge to nowhere.

Behar is a nitwit. As for 0bama, he may have meant what he said as a joke, but coming as it did after the video of Gov. Palin's address to the Special Olympics went public, the SO's and her address must have been on his mind. Palin has really gotten under his skin, and that is why we are seeing so many attacks on her via operatives in Alaska, filing "ethics compalints" etc., in order to destroy her entire family financially.
Joy Behar is a joke, all in all the View is a form of psychological
torture, that should only be inflicted on Gitmo detainee, but that would be a violation of the Geneva convention.
Of course, Obama's 'joke' was intentional, he has a eugenics mindset, this shows in his veto of his born alive legislation, and his comments how children can be a burden. It's also reflected in his reduction of tax deducatibility for charities (like the special olympics, perhaps)

Strange, isn't it, that they went through the entire 80s and 90s screeching about how "PC" we were for even bringing up disability, sexism (word previously reserved for use by the feminazis, now they've taken it over when it comes to Sarah on the cove of Newsweek), etc.
Now, suddenly, they're oh so SENSITIVE when they think it's an opportunity to defend their damsel in distress, Sarah.
Well, at least the ideas are starting to at least become a part of their limited vocabularies.

Bring up them apologizing for slavery and Jim Crow, what are you met with -- screeching about "PC" and "stop living in the past", etc.

The word is not an affront to everyone with a handicap, nor to their relatives. It does seem to be an affront to people who feign superiority.
