Ashley Judd stars in a new Internet Ad that slams Sarah Palin for promoting the "slaughter" of wildlife.
The video was debuted on EyeonPalin.org
And guess which cable network gleefully jumped on this story and used Palin-Hater Nora O'Donnell to conduct the interview - MSNBC, of course.
What a shock! MSNBC got someone from Poltico and the Washington Post to comment on the Palin-Judd feud. Instead of getting to join in on the Palin bashing, wouldn't MSNBC have served the viewing public better to debate the two side of hunting wolves in Alaska.
You wouldn't know it from the national media coverage, but there are two sides to this issue.
Let me interject here that I am not a hunter. I don't get hunting and could never kill and animal with a gun, bow and arrow or anything else.
However, I am not a hypocrite. I know that some people hunt for there food and as long as I eat meat, who am I to judge.
Sara Palin grew up in an Alaskan hunting family. The Palin family ate what they killed. Sarah grew up eating Moose and Caribou. There are many families in Alaska and other western states who hunt for food.
That is the reason for the wolf hunting exception in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act of 1972. Aerial Hunting is legal on predators in areas where livestock or wildlife population is threatened. Since 2003, Alaska has issued aerial wolf-hunting permits in select areas where moose and caribou populations are particularly endangered. The idea is that by killing the predators, the airborne gunmen can ramp up the number of moose and caribou that human hunters can take home for supper.

I believe vegetarians have every right to decry the killing of animals, as they practice what they preach. But meat-eaters and fur and leather wearers need to keep their mouths shut, as they cannot tell me that the breeding of animals to be slaughtered is morally superior to hunting.
Ashley Judd is a vegetarian.
As I said, I am torn on this issue. And I respect Ashley Judd's stand and deep commitment to a cause she believes in.
But as long as I eat meat, I can't condemn hunting, from the sky or otherwise.
And my guess is that Ashley's Mom Naomi or her sister Wynonna won't take such a strong stand against hunting either, as it is a favorite past time of country music fans.
