Here We Go Again! The Sexism aimed at Palin continues.

US News And World Report just released a poll that showed the vast majority of women believe Sarah Palin was treated unfairly by the media, especially the reports about how much the campaign spent on her wardrobe.

Two days after the poll, another story about how much the campaign spent on Palin's hair and makeup.

John McCain's campaign spent more than $95,000 on hair and makeup services for vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin in the final weeks of the campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Makeup artist Amy Strozzi was paid $60,385 between Sept. 1 and Nov. 24, and hairstylist Angela Lew received $34,830.

Separately, the Republican National Committee - which caused a ruckus when it spent more than $150,000 to clothe Palin and her family in September - spent about $23,000 in the final weeks at Macy's, Neiman Marcus and other stores for "campaign accessories."

The FEC reports do not explain the expense other than to say they were done in coordination with McCain's campaign.

Why have we never heard about how much a campaign spends on suits for a male candidate? Or hair and makeup, for that matter? Sure there has been a story hear or there about Bill Clinton holding up air traffic to get a hair cut on a plane, or John Edwards paying a small fortune to get his locks quaffed.

But let's get some totals. I mean, Palin shouldn't be the only one subjected to this scrutiny. How much did the Obama campaign pay for thei candidates suits? For his haircuts and makeup? How about for Michelle and the kids?

Fair is fair and sexists is sexist. This continual harassment of Sarah Palin over her hair, clothes and makeup. when no other candidate has to endure the same scrutiny, is just plain sexist.

Wow, you ladies need to get over it!! There was a lot of press coverage about the haircuts Clinton and Edwards. The reason you do not hear about suits for men candidates is that they pay for the suits themselves. Over $92,000 for a hair hairstylist and makeup artist would have fed a lot of hungry people. On the other hand, it is apparent that the GOP feels the expenditure justified--anything to fire up the base, right!

@ The above person.

The reason we don't hear about it is because everyone loves to trash Sarah Palin. As if she demanded that clothing! Obviously, she didn't. Even if she did, I can say I am in no way upset that my donation might have helped pay for some of her clothing. I think the only people who are making a big deal about it are critics; possibly other jealous women! And, if you want to speak about what is unnerving; try Michelle Obama dressing down to appear just like the rest of us as if they knew there was a change that McCain's running mate would be female.

Sarah Palin could have wore a potato sack and fired up the base. Obviously you do too because you are checking out blogs on her! Maybe you need to get over your animosity.

Amen Jennifer!
The RNC chose to hire stylists at those fees. All the money in the world could not make most of the haggards complaining about it look any better, perhaps the reason for the uproar. If we are talking about expenses then :
How much is this inauguration costing us ALL??

Jennifer, first let me say I really like your blog.

Why is it, and it happens on my blog, that everytime some Goose stepping, Obama Nation troll like "xauditor" comes on a pro-Palin site, their blogs/emails/etc. are never available when you click through!!! Happens on my blog all the time.

As for the "men" and I am a real one xauditor, unlike you, how about Biden's hairplugs? his teeth? his botox? Who paid for that?

Taxpayers of Delaware?
His Senate health care plan???

Is Obama going to pay back the state of Illinois any money because he has been taking a Senate salary and started running basically with a year in office, missing tons of votes and not even holding a subcomittee meating on Afghanistan of which he was the chair!!!!

Let me make the most pertinent point of this whole, manufactured issue:

This is RNC money, NOT taxpayer money, provided by people like me & others who give to party...

Why do Dems care how we spend our money? Or in the manner?

This is great distraction from B. Hussein Obama, Jr., who raised over 750 million dollars of which 50% we cannot track down the actual donors, because the credit card check software was disabled on his site!!!

This story comes on the heels of her smashing success in Georgia where she gave Chambliss a 15 point triumph and Obama, typically, was to cowardly to go down to campaign for his boy Martin!!!

Lastly, thanks for mentioning "Michelle", she has been getting outfits, on consignment or as gifts from European fashion houses like Versace and apparently Barry was in the market for a 50k ring, till they denied it in the papers...

Palin's wedding band cost like 30 bucks in Hawaii...

She had no control on these issues and even at times refused to wear clothes/outfits which had been brought to her that were not the type of thing she would wear!!!

Don't worry, our day will come, 4 years will pass quicky and POTUS 45 will emerge, Sarah Louise Heath Palin!!!!!!!!!

This just proves 2 things:
1. The media is still scared to death of Palin.
2. They are grasping at anything they can possibly find to make her look bad.

I love how no one gave a poop about Michelle Obama's $500 hotel lunch for one. I'll bet my last dollar she didn't pay for THAT herself.

If this clothing issue is the worse they can do, then...let them have it. It's stupid and shouldn't be an issue.

I also totally agree with Carlos above.

How many hungry people would the money that Obama spent on his election night rally have fed?

Seriously, you can't understand how SEXIST it is for rhe GOP to dress up Palin? I would have had a lot more respect for a woman who can dress herself and do her own hair. It is a slap in the face of woman that she took what they bought her and even after saying she wasn't wearing any of it wore a $498 blue suit on election night on the stage with John McCain (easy enough to search on the Needless Marcup website and find the suit which proves she is still wearing the clothes since she denies ever having set foot in any of those stores). So, yes, it is upsetting that almost $200k of anybodies money was spent on staging this failure. I would have respected her more if she did wear a potato sack.

Good post. They have nothing more, so this is what they use to attack her. They just can't let it go, while we see no numbers coming from the other side.

Love to see other Sarah bloggers out there. It'll be a fun 4 years!

You know it is time to let it go. We all know this is all part of the image process. The woman is classy and that is just more than some can handle. Benigna Marko

If you cannot run and win in spite of sexism then you have no business running the most powerful nation on the planet. I suggest you all get over it and find a way to overcome it.
