Sarah Palin Kicks Off Campaign For President 2012

I guess you could argue that she has already kicked off her 2012 campaign with the barrage of Network and Cable interviews this week.

But the real starting gun will come Thursday in Miami when Palin is the keynote speaker for the Republican Governor's Association.

It's not like Palin hasn't already hinted that she is throwing her hair clip into the 2012 ring. In a recent interview she said, "I'd be delighted to "serve in a greater capacity."

She said she would "plow through the door" in 2012, if the opportunity presented itself.

Think of Thursday as a plow tune-up.

There is no question that the opportunity is there and Palin has 4 years to expand her base and build her image.

Palin has the attention of the nation still, but that could be short-lived. Alaska just doesn't get that much attention.

Look for Palin to join the U-S Senate. That could happen soon.

Convicted Sen. Ted Stevens still is leading in vote tally of his close race for re-election against Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich. But although Stevens plans to appeal his federal corruption conviction, if he wins re-election Senate leaders have said they would move to expel him.

Palin then could run for Stevens' seat in a special election, which by law would be held 60 to 90 days after such a vacancy.

Palin has not ruled out running. But being a freshman Senator and on the lowest rung of the 100 member Senate may not be a good thing.

Right now she has the celebrity and the spotlight to run. But watch for grousing from Alaska democrats that she is spending too much time running for President and not enough time running the state. The election has been over one week and it has already started.

Also, there are other rising stars who are members of the Republicans Governor's Association Florida's Charlie Crist, Louisiana's Bobby Jindal and Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty.

Those three along with Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are not going to allow Palin to keep the spotlight for long.

Barack Obama hasn't even been sworn in and already the race for 2012 has begun.

Mitt Romney has to be considered the front-runner for the Republicans, but Sarah Palin is gaining fast with a lot of track left to go.

In an interview with Lori Roman, for Regular Folks United .Com, Michael Reagan made this statement about Sarah Palin.
“A lot of people are looking for Ronald Reagan and little did they know he came back in a dress with five kids.”
