Sarah Back in Alaska And Ready for Charlie

ABC World News Tonight is expecting record ratings Thursday Night as Charlie Gibson will be live in Alaska for the first interview with Sarah Palin since she got the Republican Vice-Presidential Nomination.

ABC is milking this one (no breast feeding pun intended).

Gibson will conduct three interviews and over the next few days ABC will become the Palin Network. The Interview will dominate the WNT, 20/20, Nightline and Good Morning America.

In the meantime, the New York Times reports that the McCain campaign has been prepping Palin for every possible question. She is their star, their best chance of winning and their future. They are not about to let a cheapshot from Charlie shoot their star out of the sky.

Meantime, a huge crowd is gathered at the Fairbanks airport right now waiting for their favorite daughter to arrive. Well, huge by Fairbanks standards. Let's just say, the population of Fairbanks is 82 Thousand, all non-essential employees and those not bed-ridden are at the airport.

And one final note, it seems that John McCain need not worry about Alaska's three electoral votes anymore. Barack Obama was hoping to be the first Democrat since Lyndon Johnson to win Alaska. Polls showed it was close before the Palin pick.

A poll just out tonight shows McCain/Palin leading Obama/Biden 64-33 percent, almost a 2-1 margin.

Saves Barack a long plane ride.
